Provided by the Coaches of the Edina Lakers MJHL JR Hockey League
Practice will be dedicated to over speed training, individual skill development (shooting, passing, stick handling), flow drills, and small area games. Purpose is to “shake off the rust” by improving players’ individual skills, getting you used to playing with teammates (flow drills), and learning to compete (small area games) — All the same techniques used on a day-to-day basis for the Edina Lakers Players.
Player Details: The session will be limited to the first 4 goaltenders and 30 skaters that complete their registration and submit payment. So sign-up today!
Eligible Players: All returning JR Gold A or B level players, or any player hoping to play at those levels in 2010-2011 season. Days and
Times: Each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, beginning September 21st and ending October 28th.
All sessions are 1 hour.

Each session will have one or both of the Edina Lakers MJHL JR Hockey League coaches on the ice, running practice.
Kasey Yoder, the Lakers Head Coach, played varsity hockey as a defensemen for Duluth Marshall High School. He then attended Hamline University, where he played hockey and football. Kasey has been coaching hockey for 6 years beginning with a St. Louis Park Hockey Association Squirt C team in his first season and their Squirt A team in his second season. Kasey’s third year of coaching had him leading the Pee Wee A team for the Armstrong Hockey Association. From there, Kasey returned to Duluth where he was the head coach of Duluth Marshall’s junior varsity team for 2 seasons. Kasey spent the first part of last season with the Little Falls Flying Aces Tier III A team and finished the 2009-2010 season as an assistant coach with the Edina Lakers.
Brett Shelanski, the Lakers Assistant Coach, played goaltender at the University of Minnesota, Crookston where he was part of two Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Championship teams. As a senior he was team captain, was named the University of Minnesota, Crookston, Male Student Athlete of the Year, and won the Mike Davis Award for leadership and dedication in hockey as voted on by teammates. Coach Shelanski began his coaching career in 2007 as an Assistant Hockey Coach with the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC), for two seasons until UMC discontinued its NCAA hockey program in 2009. This season will be his second in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League after spending the 2009-10 season as a coach with the Minnesota Flying Aces.
